Evercloak Secures Support To Advance Game-Changing Cooling Technology

Evercloak, a Canadian advanced materials company developing next-generation solutions for
energy-efficient cooling, is pleased to announce that it is receiving advisory services and up to
nearly $2 million CAD in funding through the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP) Clean Technology initiative to support the continued
development and scale-up of its EverDROP™ dehumidification technology.

As global temperatures rise, growing demand for air conditioning is putting increasing pressure
on electrical grids while driving higher energy costs and carbon emissions. Humidity is a major
part of the challenge: more than half of the energy used for building cooling can be associated
with removing moisture from the air.

EverDROP™ is designed to tackle humidity differently. Using Evercloak’s advanced membrane
technology, it removes moisture from air without the energy-intensive cooling and reheating
used in conventional dehumidification. The result is a more efficient approach to humidity
control with the potential to significantly reduce HVAC energy use.

“This support from NRC IRAP will help us accelerate the development of EverDROP™ as we
move toward broader commercial deployment,” said Evelyn Allen, CEO and Co-Founder of
Evercloak. “Humidity removal is one of the biggest opportunities to reduce the energy required
for cooling, and we’re focused on bringing a fundamentally more efficient solution to market.

“Canadian innovators are developing solutions that help build a stronger economy and a more sustainable future. Through the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program, the Government of Canada is proud to support Evercloak’s efforts to advance its dehumidification technology and bring innovative made-in-Canada clean technology solutions closer to market.”

The Honourable Mélanie Joly
Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions

“Evercloak is showing what Canadian innovation can do when we invest in ideas with global
potential. From Waterloo to the world, this federal investment is helping advance a made-in-
Canada solution that can strengthen our economy, accelerate clean technology, and deliver real impact for Canada and beyond.”

The Honourable Bardish Chagger
Member of Parliament for Waterloo
